So some of you are wondering on how to save money on clothes in a small town. Well it is easy to do. There are several ways to do it yard sales, Salvation Army, stores in general that sale clothes and Consignment Shops. Now I only have Walmart to shop for clothes here in town or I can drive 20 minutes to the next big town to shop for clothes. So I will tell you my main way of buying clothes here.
Well my favorite place to buy clothes is the Salvation Army store. My work is in the shopping center as my Salvation Army Store. So I can run in anytime I am at work and see what is on sale that day. I buy mine and the kids clothes there all of the time. Just the other day I got me 3 pairs of pants, 2 tank tops, a skirt, 2 shirts and a coffee pot all for about $16.00. I do not buy my husband clothes there that often since he has clothes in our closet from 2 Christmas ago with tag still on them. I also donate clothes back to them when we no longer need them or tired of wearing them. Also I get books from there all of the time. If you do not have a Salvation Army store look for a Goodwill Store or any other Thrift store.
The next is yard sales. My area has them on Saturdays around here. You can find clothes on them as well. It is a hit and miss on them mostly. For one week you might find clothes you need or the next week you might not find what you need at all. Also at yard sales you can find other things at them such as toys, books, household items and furniture. So check out your local yard sales.
The other places is your stores. I have Walmart here in town and it has a small selection in it. I check the clearance racks a lot there. I do drive to the larger towns at times so I can go to Target, JcPenny, Sears and other big retailers. When I go to those stores I always check the clearance racks. We can wear short sleeves here pretty much year round. There is about 2 months of the year the long sleeves are needed though.
The last place is Consignment stores. I do not have any in the town that I live in now. There are some in the larger towns though. I have been only to one of them but it closed down. I would like to go to one again but I have not found one that is close to home.
I hope one of these ideas help you to save on buying clothes for your family. Please leave me a comment on your ways of saving money on clothes for your family.
