Organizing Your Coupons

There are several different methods of organizing your coupons out there. I will go over several of them here for you. Now what works for one person may not work for you. I will explain the four most popular methods:

Binder method
Coupon Wallet
Coupon Box
No Cutting

The Binder Method is one of the most popular one out there now and is the method that I use now. This involve using a 3-ring binder about a 2 inch one. It is best if it is a zipper binder but does not have to be one. You will need some subject dividers and baseball card holders for this. The way you set up your sections in this binder can be done several ways. You can do your categories alphabetical order or by your store layout. I use mostly alphabetical order but some of my categories are broad and I will include everything that is on that aisle with the category. Example is Baking I put spices, sugars, baking mixes, cooking oils and gravy mixes for these are all together in my store. I always recommend that you set up your binder so it is easy for you. You will actually place your coupons in the baseball card holders. Most coupons will fit it with no problem but some of them you will have to fold them.

Coupon Wallet are little wallets that you can buy online or at a dollar store. Some come with the tabs already labeled and others you can customize to what you use. I use to use this method before I switched to the binder method recently. The wallets I like are ones I got at a big name store that were for cancel checks and they were plastic. I was using more than one of these at a time I had one that I put all of my food products in and another that I used for nonfood ones. They way you set these up are up to you as well just like the binder method. I advise you to set it up for away that makes since to you.

The coupon box is also just like the binder and the wallet methods. The big difference is it is in a box. These can take up a lot of space also if you drop these you will be picking up your coupons of the ground if it is not sealed closed.

The last method is the not clipping method. With this method every week you pull out your inserts with the sales paper at home. You will match your coupons to the sale and then clip the coupons that you will be using that week. The down side to this say if you are at the store and something is on sale that was not advertise the coupon will be at home.

No matter how you set up your system make it work for you. That means if you do not have a baby them you do not need a baby category. The same would go with pets or anything else you would or would not use. Also make sure you take your coupons with you to the store every time you go you never know when you will come across an unadvertised sale item.
